Abstract
After Ellie Edge’s father dies, Ellie learns that she’s been left out of his will and that he has bequeathed a prized possession to a person she’s never met. A recent college graduate, Ellie is making a life for herself as an environmental reporter in Washington, DC. Her editor assigns her to investigate the disappearance of wild animals along the Eastern seaboard. As Ellie uncovers clues about the missing animals, she becomes obsessed with meeting the person recognized in her father’s will and with finding answers to why her father disowned her. | 185 pages
