The Front Page Discussion series is sponsored by the Stony Brook West Campus/Southampton Chapter of the United University Professions. It was started by Michael Zweig during his tenure as vice president for academics (1999-2007). The series is the chapter's contribution to the intellectual life of the campus and is also designed to foster interdisciplinary collegiality among our members. Presentations feature the work and research of members of the Stony Brook Community and presentations by authors and visiting scholars. Past discussions have included topics in political science, archaeology, economics, anthropology, labor history, and the classics. Programs on issues of interest to our members, such as intellectual freedom and intellectual property rights, have also been presented as part of the series. Information on the West Campus Chapter of United University Professions may be found on their website.
