Abstract
THE OTHER ME is the true story of what happens when, at 29, in the midst of my first year of marriage, I learn that my father has been cheating on my mother on and off for almost forty years; I am held at gunpoint, zip-tied, and forced to lie face down in a bed with my sister while a gang of contract hitmen attempt to kill her neighbor; and two weeks later, my husband of ten-and-a-half months tells me he thinks he would like to be with someone else, someone he's been seeing recently. THE OTHER ME follows my journey over the subsequent two years as I learn to accept the trauma and rebuild my relationship with my husband.
